The Forest for the Trees

HEY! My newest M/M romance THE FOREST FOR THE TREES is now available for preorder!

Neil Laverty has everything he wants. He's become an overnight sensation in the Vancouver art scene, he's looking at buying a new home, and he's got more money than half-finished canvasses kicking around. That's when his agent calls to tell him his long-estranged and slightly kooky uncle Seamus has left him a big inheritance. A 500 acre inheritance, in fact. And that's how city-boy Neil finds himself heading out to the backwoods of Canada to a ranch where there's no cell service, spotty internet, and a lot of bugs.

Lucky for him, the ranch foreman Steve Visser isn't just easy on the eyes, he's also up for a little no-strings-attached fun. Plus, there's lots of space for Neil to paint. Things should be good. But that's when the local RCMP constable informs Neil that the RCMP are starting to think that maybe Seamus didn't die from a fall, that maybe he was pushed. And that's when the trouble really starts.

Breakfast as a Survival Skill

So, as some of you know, I took a bit of time off to have a baby. The little man is just over a month old now, and I'm getting my feet again. It's hard to feel romantic when you're covered in spit-up and have stitches in places you thought you'd never need stitched, so there's no new romances on the horizon (sorry), and with sleep-dep the way it is right now, trying to hold a whole fantasy novel in my head while I write it is… unlikely.

So instead of focusing on long-form fiction, I've been writing short-form non fiction. My little piece on postpartum life and the central importance of a damn good breakfast will be coming from Island Parent (my local parenting rag - hiya west coasties!) next week. It's called Breakfast as a Survival Skill and you can grab it free from news stands. Here's hoping they'll make it available on their website for you non-islanders out there.

Okay, holy crap. Salt and Iron became available to preorder on Amazon.com last night, and today it's broken Amazon's top 100 for LGBT fantasy books and it's not even out yet.

You guys, this is amazing. Thank you so much for your interest in this book, and damn, I hope you enjoy it. Please tell me what you think of it here, on Amazon, or Goodreads. I am dying to know how you like it!
